About TravelItinerary.at

I’m Amanda McCallister, the writer behind TravelItinerary.at. I started this site for one reason: every “Perfect 3-Day [City]” guide I read before my own trips was either an AI-generated content farm or a sponsored brochure. I wanted to write the kind of guide a friend who actually traveled would write.

What I do here

Every itinerary on this site is one I’ve walked. I take photos with my phone, write notes in a battered Field Notes book, eat at the places I recommend, and stay at the hotels I cite. The dollar amounts, the wait times, the “this opens at 8:55am if you’re at the right gate” — those are mine.

My method

  • Two trips per city minimum before I publish. Once during peak season, once off-peak. The differences matter.
  • Phone photos only. No stock. If a photo looks too perfect for a $40 dinner, I didn’t take it.
  • I write the way I talk. That means anecdotes, asides, and the occasional “wait, I’m misremembering — it was actually Tuesday.”
  • AI as a research assistant, never as a writer. I use AI to compile and organize; the voice and the recommendations are mine.

How I make money

This site uses affiliate links for hotels (Booking.com), tours (Viator, GetYourGuide), and a few other services I’d recommend anyway. When you book through one of those links, I get a small commission at no extra cost to you. I also run ads in a few footer slots. I don’t accept paid placements in the itineraries themselves — if a hotel is in the post, it’s because I’d recommend it whether or not they paid me.

See Affiliate disclosure for full details.
